It has comfortable fabric straps and an interior pocket. The bag has a boxed bottom, and when interfaced with foam, it will stand on its own! I have made several seasonal ones using strips of themed quilting cotton for fun looks. This pattern teaches quilting on foam, boxed bottoms, and fabric straps. It is topstitched for a finished look. I use mine daily as a purse, but it would make a great library bag or for the farmer's market!
